Library Meeting Times For 2022: We will continue to meet at 1:00 PM on the second Thursday of the month in the Hondius Room. Our meeting days in 2022 will be: Thursdays: January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10. No meeting in December. The room is reserved from 1-3, with an additional 15 minutes before 1 for set-up and after 3 for clean-up. Our general schedule will be 1:00 introduction, 1:15-2:15 program speakers, 2:15 questions & announcements.
Location: 335 E Elkhorn Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
Annual Business Meeting: As reported by Liz Stewart. At our Civil War program with Dr. Ted Bainbridge, we had 17 in attendance, with 10 staying for the annual business meeting. As mentioned earlier, Kris Holien and I will be stepping down as officers and we are still looking for permanent replacements to lead meetings and line up programs. What we discussed doing in the meantime is to ask for some members to volunteer to line up speakers and then lead those particular meetings. We have two people who have expressed some interest in doing this, but still need at least one or possibly two more volunteers to agree to do this for a few months. Speaker fees are going up to $100 in some cases, so Jim Redman is planning for 7 paid speakers, we hope to fill the other 4 months with member programs. We will need two more volunteers to present member programs or have a workshop or two where we bring our computers and sign on to different sites and help members and friends with their research questions. Another suggestion was to design a postcard that members could have on hand to distribute to interested people. We have a member that said they would design the post card. And lastly, dues will remain the same next year, at $30. Kris and I will be in and out during the next year.
